Overview
Anne Peterson is a Vice President for Social Policy and Economics Research. Her passion is helping government agencies, organizations, and communities generate and use evidence to address issues of inequity, improve outcomes, and achieve results. For federal nutrition assistance programs, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program; Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children; Older Americans Act Nutrition Services Program, she has led national research and technical assistance projects designed to improve food security and reduce hunger, particularly for individuals who have been historically underserved and economically disadvantaged.
Peterson leads the design and implementation of evaluations and probability-based surveys and experimental designs, with a focus on formative evaluations, process evaluations, impact evaluations, and evaluations of demonstrations. Peterson was the co-founder of Insight Policy Research, an award-winning research firm that operated successfully for 23 years. Earlier, she gained more than 10 years of federal experience serving at both the U.S. Census Bureau and USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service.
